Ensuring the last remaining major bellfoundry in Britain will not be lost.
The Loughborough Bellfoundry Trust (LBT) is the owner of the John Taylor Bellfoundry – Britain’s last major bellfoundry – and the landlord for John Taylor & Co, the historic bellfounders who occupy the site. With the site having been rescued from administrators in 2009 by UK Bellfoundries Ltd and with the subsequent closure of the Whitechapel Bellfoundry in London, the LBT was established to hold the John Taylor Bellfoundry site in perpetuity to ensure the last remaining bellfoundry in Britain would not be lost.
